Shopify store migration

The two big fears when changing platforms are losing data and losing search rankings. Both are avoided with a plan: data is mapped and transferred, and every old address is connected to its new page.

Who it’s for

  • Brands moving to Shopify to sell internationally
  • Stores leaving WooCommerce, Wix or another platform
  • Businesses moving from a website package to a real store
  • Stores whose rankings dropped after an earlier migration with missing redirects

What’s included

6 items
01

Data inventory

Products, variants, images, customers, orders and pages are listed; what moves is agreed up front.

02

Transfer

Data is mapped to Shopify’s structure and imported; sample records are checked one by one.

03

URL mapping table

Every important old URL is written down next to its new Shopify address.

04

301 redirects

The mapping table is added as redirects, so search engines learn that each page has moved.

05

Integration tests

Payments, shipping, invoicing and email flows are tested on Shopify.

06

Post-launch monitoring

Broken links and search visibility are watched in the first weeks.

How it works

  1. 1

    Inventory and plan

The data and URL structure are mapped and a migration timeline is written.

  2. 2

    Trial import

Data is first imported into a trial store and reviewed together.

  3. 3

    Final import and redirects

The latest orders and customers are moved and redirects are added.

  4. 4

    Switch and monitor

The domain is connected to Shopify and post-launch checks begin.

What sets the price

  • Number of products, variants and images
  • Scope of customer and order history to move
  • Export options of your current platform
  • Number of URLs to redirect
  • Whether a new theme is built as part of the move

Questions and answers

3 questions
01Will my store go offline during the migration?

No. The trial import happens while your current store stays open; the final import and domain switch are scheduled for the quietest hour.

02Will I lose my Google rankings?

If old URLs are 301-redirected to their new pages, search engines understand that pages have moved and rankings are largely kept. Short fluctuations can happen in the first weeks; we watch Search Console together.

03Are customer passwords migrated?

No platform exports passwords, for security reasons. Customers set a new password on first login; a short email explaining this is planned in advance.
